Zach Owen
Andover Central High School TechnologyZach Owen earned his BA and MSEd in Technology and Engineering Education at SUNY Oswego. He has been teaching technology and engineering education for 12 years at Andover Central School. Mr. Owen teaches Environmental Technology, Production Systems, Welding and Fabrication, Design Drawing and Production, as well as 7th and 8th grade technology and engineering courses. Mr. Owen was named the 2022 regional teacher of the year by the NEW York State Technology and Engineering Educators Association. When Mr. Owen is not in the classroom, he enjoys spending time with his wife and four children on their homestead, milking cows, making maple syrup and renovating their 1850’s farmhouse. Mr. Owen is passionate about engaging students inside and outside of the classroom through experiential, and project-based learning. As a NYS Master Teacher, Mr. Owen is looking forward to collaborating with other teachers and learning how to come up with meaningful ways for students to think critically about design and the world they live in.
