Tony Schabloski

Tony Schabloski earned his Master’s in Science Education from the University at Buffalo in 2008 and received his B.S. in Natural Resources – Environmental Science from Paul Smith’s College in 2002. Mr. Schabloski's research experience began at the NOAA Southeast Fisheries Science Center studying the effects of no-take marine reserves on exploited reef fish of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. He also served as a Biologcal Technician for the USDA Forest Service SNFPA Carnivore Monitoring Team; a Biologist and fisherman aboard commercial fishing/crab vessels in the Bering Sea; an Interpretive Guide at Letchworth State Park; and a Marine Science Instructor at the Seacamp Institute in Big Key, FL. It was at the Seacamp Institute that Mr. Schabloski found his passion in education. Since 2008, he has been teaching 8th grade science and Environmental Science at Cattaraugus – Little Valley Central School. Mr. Schabloski and his students’ current projects include a long term monitoring program of Mansfield and Cattaraugus Creeks; the effects of deer exclosures on forest regeneration, the development of a Forestry and Wildlife Research Center on the schools off campus property, Aquaponics, Trout In the Classroom, and the management of 100 acres of forested property owned by Cattaraugus - Little Valley Central School.
