Tessa Johnson
Bemus Point Elementary School ElementaryTessa Johnson earned her B.A. in Psychology, and Quadruple Certification in Education in 2004, and her M.S. Ed. in Literacy Education with additional certification in Early Childhood in 2006 from Nazareth College. Tessa started as a lead teacher with the Patricia Carter Child Care Center of Nazareth College in 2006 before moving to kindergarten with C.C. Ring Elementary in Jamestown, NY. In 2014 she joined Bemus Point Elementary at the kindergarten level. Her passion for science and technology led to her work on her district’s technology committee where she aided in the development and planning of trainings and Google Scramble style in-service events. Tessa also enjoyed working with the Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Board of Cooperative Education Services in the development of science curriculum based on the Next Generation Standards in kindergarten. She currently enjoys the challenge of creating developmentally appropriate opportunities through STEAM to help her students gain knowledge of the world around them. Outside of school, Mrs. Johnson loves exploring the outdoors with her husband, an Earth Science teacher, and her three young children. Tessa is honored to be a part of the NYS Master Teacher program and looks forward to the opportunity to grow as an educator and learner through the diverse professional development offerings and PLT’s.
