Terrilyn Woodhouse
Maryvale Middle School BiologyTerrilynn Woodhouse earned her BS in Biology from the Rochester Institute of Technology and MSEd from Columbia Teachers College. For 2 years she taught AP Biology, Regents Earth Science, Physics and Biology at Christian Central Academy. In the class room for 20 years, she has taught Regents Living Environment and General Science at Maryvale Middle School. Prior to teaching she conducted research at the Columbia Medical Center Endocrinology Department. Her professional interests include mentoring new and pre-service science teachers and implementing technology and inquiry-based labs to engage students. In addition to her class room responsibilities, she has served as an advisor for Student Council, an advisor for Ski Club, a member of the National Junior Honor Society committee and Science Department Chair, k-12. She implemented a summer STEM camp for Middle School students and is an active member of the Science Teacher Association of NYS. Extracurricular activities include boating, skiing, and hiking in local parks. Terrilynn is thankful for her family’s support in this new endeavor. She is looking forward to being involved in the Professional Learning Teams focusing on technology and engineering applications encompassing the new NYSSLS.
