Stephen Stiller
East High School MathematicsStephen Stiller received his BA in Math and in Education from SUNY Geneseo and his MA in Philosophy from The University of Buffalo. He went on to get an Advanced Certificate in Teacher Leadership from Niagara University. Stephen has taught for sixteen years at six different high schools and is now teaching Algebra for Buffalo Public Schools at East High. In his years in Buffalo, he has been a Department Chair, a Curriculum Lead Teacher, a Teacher Mentor, a Math Coach, and a Professional Development Facilitator. He tutored in high school, college, and continues to tutor. Stephen was the Math Student of the Year in high school. During his first year of teaching in Buffalo, the students voted him the “Most Inspirational”, “Most Motivating”, “Most Creative”, “Most Energetic”, “Funniest Teacher”, “Best Attendance”, and “Outstanding Teacher”. More recently, he was voted “Most Caring Teacher”. He was also the recipient of an “Outstanding Lesson”, “Outstanding Teacher”, and a “Thinking Outside the Box” award. Stephen is a singer, songwriter, musician, and worship leader. He considers himself a life-long learner and is excited to be able to tap into the vast amount knowledge that the Master Teacher Program makes abundantly available.
