Sean Murray earned a BS degree from SUNY Plattsburgh and an MS degree in Technology Education from the State University of New York College at Buffalo. He furthered his education at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where he took engineering classes to increase his knowledge base. Sean has been employed as an engineering teacher in the Clarence Central School District since 2003. Prior to teaching, Sean spent eleven years in an industrial engineering role and often shares real-life experiences with his students. He currently teaches Introduction to Engineering Design, Principles of Engineering, and Woods 2. In addition to teaching for Clarence, Sean was a Project Lead The Way Master Teacher for ten years, where he was employed by Rochester Institute of Technology and other universities in an effort to train teachers in engineering curricula. Sean is a co-advisor of Engineering Club and participates in Tech Wars competitions at Niagara and Erie Community colleges. As advisor of Clarence Ski Club, Sean enjoys skiing with his students and families. In addition, Sean is an avid woodworker and cyclist. He enjoys designing and building bridges for Erie County parks and volunteers his time maintaining trails. Sean is an active member of the NYS Engineering and Technology Educators Association as well as the WNY Technology Educators Association. As a New York State Master Teacher, Sean looks forward to working with other master teachers in an effort to fine-tune science and math concepts within his project-based classes.
