Robert Parry

Robert Parry earned his BS in biology from Niagara University and M­­SEd in Secondary Science Education from D'Youville College. In the classroom 14 years, Mr. Parry teaches Advanced Placement Biology (AP) and Regents Chemistry at Depew High School. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he coaches Varsity Baseball at Depew High School. His professional interests include virtual online learning and student driven instruction. He is currently working with the Erie 1 Board of Cooperative Educational Services to create a Virtual AP Biology Course and other online science elective courses. Mr. Parry is also a member of the American Chemical Society, and is the Chemistry Subject Area Representative for the Western Section of Science Teachers Association of NYS. Within the NYS Master Teacher Program, Mr. Parry has facilitated the Gamefication Professional Learning Team (PLT), and participated in the Problem Posing PLT. As a result of the NYS Master Teacher Program, he implemented different gamefication strategies to reinforce positive behavior in his students. After implementing a points system to reward students for class participation, his students increased their level of participation and preparation for class and were more engaged in the classroom activities.
