Michelle Hinchliffe
Lewiston-Porter High School ChemistryMrs. Hinchliffe earned her Bachelor’s degree and teaching certificate from the University of Michigan and her Master’s degree from Niagara University. She has spent more than 20 years at Lewiston- Porter High School teaching Regents and Advanced Placement chemistry. Mrs. Hinchliffe was awarded the Menzie Environmental Education award for the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry in 2012. She won the Western New York American Chemical Society Outstanding Teacher of the Year in 2012 and was presented with an Award of Appreciation for Service as Chemistry Director at Large for STANYS in 2013. She currently serves as chemistry subject area representative for NW STANYS section. Her passion revolves around creating authentic learning and research experiences for her students. As Science National Honor Society co-advisor and International Student Science Fair co-advisor, she has created opportunities for her students to participate in scientific communities at the local, national and international levels. She is honored to be awarded a Master Teacher Fellowship and looks forward to professional collaboration with her colleagues.
