Michael Gembar

Lancaster Central School District Technology, Computer Science, & Robotics

Michael Gembar earned his BS Technology Education and MA Technology Education from SUNY Buffalo State. He has been teaching since 2004 and currently teaches Applied Technologies at Lancaster Middle School. In addition to his classroom role, Mr. Gembar serves as a district-level Teacher Leader, Data Coach, and District Mentor. He integrates the engineering design process and project-based learning to enrich student experiences and foster creativity, problem-solving, and real-world application.
Mr. Gembar is an active member of the Western New York Technology Education Association and serves as the FarWestern District Vice President for the New York State Technology & Engineering Association and as a delegate for the New York State Council of Educators Association. Outside the classroom, Mr. Gembar has coached multiple sports, including modified & JV volleyball and varsity rifle. He participates annually as a chaperone on the Vermont Ski Club trip and has served as an advisor for numerous extracurricular programs, including the Middle School Air Rifle Club, Science Olympiad, STEM Club, Trap & Skeet Team, and Drama Club set design. After the school day ends, he can often be found coaching at Niagara Frontier Volleyball Club, working with local conservation societies to coach Trap & Skeet teams, or teaching New York State DEC Hunter Education courses as a USA Clay Target League coach, Range Safety Officer, and NRA Level II Certified Shotgun Coach. Mr. Gembar enjoys spending time outdoors with his family. Highlights include camping, fishing, and assisting in their beekeeping adventures. He also spends time in his woodshop crafting furniture and other projects as needed for his remodeling and construction work. He looks forward to collaborating with colleagues in a STEM-rich environment that reinforces hands-on learning, innovation, and student success.
