Michael Delassandro
Williamsville East High School ScienceMichael Dalessandro earned his BS in Biology at Rowan University, MS in Education at Medaille University, and additional credits for NYS Teaching Certification at SUNY Buffalo State. He holds teaching certifications in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics and has experience in each during his 15 years in the classroom. Prior to teaching, Mr. Dalessandro worked as a grant writer for the Town of West Seneca. He now teaches Physics and Forensics at Williamsville East High School, where he also serves as a new teacher mentor, a student teaching coach, and advisor to the Hands Around the World Club, a charitable organization that engages student action to address local and remote needs. Earnest Rutherford is credited as saying, “All of physics is either impossible or trivial. It is impossible until you understand it, and then it becomes trivial.” Michael takes this idea to heart, remembering how frustrating it can be for some students to not understand a principle - but with hope that when they do, they can’t help but notice it in everything. Michael is passionate about nutrition and exercise, and enjoys learning about the ever-evolving field of astronomy. He has also earned a Masters in Pastoral Ministry at Christ the King Seminary and is an ordained deacon in the Roman Catholic Church, where he serves at a local parish on weekends and a shelter for people experiencing homelessness.
