Melanie Myers earned her BA in Psychology and an MS in Educational Administration and Supervision from Canisius University. She holds professional certifications in Early Childhood Education (Birth–Grade 2), Childhood Education (Grades 1–6), Secondary Math, School Building Leader, and School District Leader. She began her teaching career in the Buffalo School District in 1991 and joined the Williamsville Central School District in 2010. She is currently a Math Specialist K–4 at Dodge Elementary School. Her responsibilities extend beyond the classroom as she leads the school Math Team, provides professional development, and mentors novice teachers. Additionally, she serves on the District Math Team, delivering curriculum updates and data-driven insights to district officials and the Board of Education. Mrs. Myers has taught at regional conferences hosted by Canisius University, Cornell University, and the New York State Master Teacher Program. She is a dedicated member of the Association of Mathematics Teachers of New York State and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and has a background in crisis intervention focusing on suicide prevention and advocacy, counseling survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. Outside of school, Mrs. Myers enjoys racing sailboats and cheering on her daughters in their athletic pursuits. She participates in a book club, enjoys traveling, hiking, and cycling. As a Master Teacher, Mrs. Myers looks forward to collaborating with peers to foster a supportive culture of mathematical thinking. As a second-generation educator, she carries on a family tradition of inspiring others through education.
