Matthew Saramak
Eden Jr./Sr. High School Technology and EngineeringMatthew Saramak earned his BS in Technology Education from SUNY Oswego State in 2010, and his MS in Technology Education from SUNY Buffalo State in 2013. Matthew’s teaching career began in 2010 at Lake Shore Middle school, and in 2013 Matthew accepted a position at the Eden Middle/High School where he is currently teaching. Matthew teaches both middle and high school Technology Education classes. Matthew teaches a variety of high school level courses, these courses include: Design Drafting for Production, Woodworking, Electricity/Electronics, Interest to Pinterest/Materials processing, Vehicle Maintenance, Motorsports, and Adaptive Foundations of Technology. A passion for sharing information with others and the love of technology is what influenced Matthew to pursue a career in Technology Education. During his career Matthew has received several awards and additional certificates, including the M&T Bank Touchdown for Teachers for being a top teacher in the community. Matthew is also a certified workplace coordinator. He is involved with several clubs and committees within his school district. Matthew is a co-adviser to the school’s Technology/Chopper club, adviser of the schools Future Farmers of America club, team leader for the schools day of volunteering:Raiders Respond day, and a member of the Shared Decision Making Team. Outside of the classroom Matthew enjoys the outdoors, his hobbies include mountain biking and skiing. During the summer months Matthew spends the majority of his time on the St. Lawrence river in Clayton, NY with his wife Kelly and son Mitchell, along with their extended family including 6 nieces and nephews. As a new member of the NYS Master Teacher Program Matthew looks forward to collaborating, with other teachers to increase his knowledge and application of STEM content in the classroom.
