Martin Skierczynski
Cheektowaga Middle School ScienceMartin Skierczynski earned his BS in Environmental Studies from the University at Buffalo, BS in Elementary Education from Medaille College, and MSEd from SUNY Buffalo. He has been teaching fifth grade for 22 years in the Cheektowaga Central School District at both Union East Elementary and Cheektowaga Central Middle School. Mr. Skierczynski is the fifth-grade team leader and a union building representative. He is a member of the Buffalo Math Collaborative and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) where he presented at their national conference in San Diego, California in April 2019. Outside of school, Mr. Skierczynski, an Eagle Scout, loves to instill a love of the outdoors in youth and has served as a trained adult volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America for 30 years. He is currently Assistant Scoutmaster of BSA Troop 735. In his free time, Mr. Skierczynski enjoys DIY projects, skiing, camping, kayaking, gardening and has participated in the Gardens Buffalo Niagara Tours of Open Gardens. As a Master Teacher, he is looking forward to collaborating with other teachers to learn new strategies and continue to grow as an educator.
