Mark Izydorczak

Sweet Home Central Schools Mathematics

Mark Izydorczak is a life-long Western New Yorker who earned his BA and MA in Mathematics Education at SUNY Buffalo. He has been teaching since 1993, predominantly at Sweet Home High School, specializing in Geometry and Statistics. Mark is particularly interested in developing best practices for Artificial Intelligence, improving education for English Language Learners, and the adaptation of the state’s Portrait of a Graduate. Recently Mark initiated a Problem Gambling Awareness campaign at his school to promote improved understanding of addiction and probability and hopes to expand this outreach. He volunteers as a curriculum creator and teacher for a non-profit called College Guild that provides free correspondence courses for inmates across America. Their mission aligns with his values to connect with marginalized people and foster mutual respect through shared learning. Mark’s interests include drawing, painting, the card game Magic: The Gathering, and nondualism.
