Lori Chittenden
Smallwood Drive Elementary ElementaryLori Chittenden received her BA in Elementary Education from SUNY Buffalo State in 1992 and MS in Special Education from SUNY Buffalo State in 1996. She has been teaching at Smallwood Drive Elementary School in Amherst, NY for 25 years. Miss Chittenden currently teachers first grade. She is the Elementary Math Leader for Smallwood Elementary and Windermere Elementary schools, as well as a member of the Strategic Planning Committee. Miss Chittenden was trained in Clinical Supervision and is part of a team that trains new teachers in the Amherst School district in Essential Elements of Instruction. In addition, she mentors new teachers following the Clinical Supervision model to provide instructional feedback focused on best practices. Miss Chittenden has presented on a variety of topics to both teachers in Amherst and other local districts. She was a board member of AMTNYS and also served on the Math Content Advisory Panel for the NYS Education Department. Miss Chittenden enjoys all things related to health and wellness. She enjoys spinning, group exercise, concerts, Buffalo restaurants and learning about math. As a NYS Master Teacher, she is excited to have the opportunity to learn alongside other Master Teachers and share the learning with her colleagues.
