Lon Knappenberger
Westfield Academy and Central School General Science and BiologyMr. Lon Knappenberger has his BS in Biology at SUNY Fredonia and MA in Anthropology with a concentration in Primate Behavior from the University at Buffalo. Mr. Knappenberger spent six years studying primate behavior before entering the teaching field. He was hired full time by Westfield Academy and Central School in 1995 to teach Middle School Science. In addition to the courses previously listed, he had taught Healrh 6, Chatacter Development 7, Biology, Living Environment Lab, Physical Science, assisted with Math 7, and enrichment French/Spanish 7. His interests include genomics, forensic anthropology, environmental enrichment and psychological well- being of captive nonhuman primates. Most recently he has been annotating genes of Kytococcus sedentarius for the University at Buffalo and Joint Genome Institute.
