
Lisa Tubinis
Edward Town Middle School ScienceLisa Tubinis holds a BA in Geological Science and an MSEd from the University at Buffalo. During her undergraduate studies, she worked in the Buffalo Geoscience Program to promote outreach opportunities and enhance diversity in geoscience programs. She also served as a tutor and instructor for the Liberty Partnership Program to provide programs and services to the Buffalo Public Schools. Mrs. Tubinis has dedicated 15 years to teaching science. She began her teaching career in 2010 at Holley Junior/Senior High School. In 2023, she joined the Science Department at Edward Town Middle School, where she currently teaches 7th and 8th Grade Science and Regents Earth Science. In addition to her teaching duties, she enjoys advising the 7th Grade Class and Newspaper Club. She is also a part of her school’s Character Education and Restorative Practice Team. In 2013, she was selected for the Shipboard Science Workshop aboard the Lake Guardian, the US Environmental Protection Agency research vessel. During this time, she worked alongside EPA scientists to collect and analyze samples from Lake Ontario and develop educational resources focused on the Great Lakes. Outside of teaching, Mrs. Tubinis enjoys spending time with her children and exploring local events and seasonal activities. She is also a frequent visitor to the Buffalo Zoo, Niagara Falls Aquarium, and the Buffalo Museum of Science. Mrs. Tubinis is honored to be a Master Teacher and looks forward to collaborating with other STEM educators and bringing new opportunities to her district.
