Lindsay Rogers
Union East Elementary Mathematics, ScienceLindsay Rogers earned her BS in Communication Studies and her MS in Education both from SUNY Brockport. She holds three Permanent Certifications: Childhood Education (grades 1-6), Students with Disabilities (grades 1-6), and Childhood Literacy (grades birth-6th). She has been an elementary teacher since 2006, currently working at Union East Elementary School. Mrs. Rogers is teaching in an Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) classroom. She teaches all general subject areas which include ELA, mathematics, and science. Prior to applying to the NYSMTP, she has participated in many professional learning groups, which include the Buffalo Math Collaborative with Dr. Kara Imm for the past 6 years. Mrs. Rogers has co-presented at the AMTNYS (Association of Mathematics Teachers of New York State) with NYS Master Teachers. She has participated in many landscapes courses through Buffalo State College to develop her content knowledge in the areas of mathematics and science. She has been appointed to Team Leader in third grade for the past five years. She was also nominated for Teacher of the Year in the Cheektowaga CSD for 2023. She also has sat on many committees in her school such as ELA Committee, CSE (Committee for Special Education), and Math Committee. Mrs. Rogers tutors students after school in the areas of ELA and Math as well as volunteers at school and community events regularly. Mrs. Rogers is looking forward to working with like-minded professionals to enhance and foster her learning in STEM in order to provide her students with the best opportunities possible.
