Lee Nowocien
Grand Island High School PhysicsLee Nowocien has been teaching High School science at Grand Island HS in Western New York for 13 years after starting his career with a 3 year stint at Penfield HS outside of Rochester. Lee graduated with both his bachelors and masters degrees from SUNY Geneseo with majors in physics and physics education.
Lee has taught regent's physics as part of his regular teaching duties for his whole career and has also taught physical science and a blended environmental science course. In addition to his teaching duties he coaches boys’ volleyball, runs the UNYTS Donate Life Club and has served as science program coordinator at Grand Island High School. Lee lives on Grand Island with his wife and two sons and spends his free time fishing the upper Niagara river, camping and hiking.
