Lawrence Grisanti

Lawrence Grisanti earned his BA in Biology and MSEd in Biology Education from the State University of New York at Buffalo, an AS degree in Liberal Arts Science from Erie Community College, and earned education certification in Earth Science, Chemistry, and Biology from Buffalo State. Prior to teaching, Mr. Grisanti was a certified arborist with the International Society of Arboriculture where he worked in the green industry assessing tree health. Mr. Grisanti currently teaches Living Environment and AP Biology at East Aurora High School. He is a member of Science Teachers Association of New York State, National Science Teachers Association, and The Union of Concerned Scientists and is the East Aurora Faculty Association President. His professional development experiences include studying coral bleaching on San Salvador, Bahamas and invasive species of Lake Ontario on the research vessel Lake Guardian. Mr. Grisanti is also the Science Club adviser where he and club members explored the Galapagos Islands. He is inspired by a notation Charles Darwin added to his first sketch of the tree of life which is “I think”. Now, Mr. Grisanti is working with other Master Teachers and taking advantage of all the opportunities to learn science and to improve pedagogy.
