Lauren Vargovich
Lackawanna Middle School ScienceLauren Vargovich earned her BA in Interdisciplinary Studies and her MS in Childhood Special Education from D’Youville College. Ms. Vargovich holds four NYS certifications in the areas of Early Childhood Education, Childhood Education, and Special Education. An educator for 11 years, she has been teaching sixth graders Physical Science at Lackawanna Middle School since 2017. Ms. Vargovich is an impassioned educator who understands the importance of building relationships with her students and recognizes how vital it is to create engaging and collaborative lessons in order to reach every student. Ms. Vargovich actively participates in professional development opportunities within and outside of Lackawanna City School District. Her continued desire to learn and remain passionate about education has helped her develop as a facilitator of science education. She is a co-advisor for The Inventive Thinking Club and advises a Wellness Club. She also helped create a clothing store at Lackawanna Middle School for students in need. Outside of school, Ms. Vargovich enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, and skiing with her two sons. Her enthusiasm for learning and growth in the field of education will continue throughout her career. Ms. Vargovich is honored to be named a NYS Master Teacher and is eager to collaborate with educators through this platform.
