
Kristin Stark
Union East Elementary Integrated STEMKristin Stark earned her BA in Elementary Education/Early Secondary English Education (7–9) from Canisius University and her MS in Reading Teacher/Specialist from the University at Buffalo. She is in her 31st year of teaching at the elementary level and has taught grades K through 4. Since 2021, Ms. Stark has been part of her district’s 21st Century Classroom Initiative, integrating STEAM activities that promote creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking. She has also participated in the Buffalo Math Collaborative, where she gained strategies to strengthen students' number sense and problem-solving skills. As a member of NYSCATE, she attends technology-based workshops to stay current with innovative instructional practices. In 2025, she and her co-teacher are presenting on their 21st Century Classroom work at the elementary level. She also advises her school’s Cooking Club for grades 3 and 4 and currently serves as chair of her district’s Professional Development Committee. In addition, she represents her teacher union on the WNY Teacher Center Policy Board. Outside the classroom, Ms. Stark enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, reading, and traveling. She is proud to be part of the Master Teacher program and considers herself a lifelong learner, always seeking new ideas and strategies to bring back to her students and colleagues.
