Kristen Shouldice
Windermere Boulevard Elementary School ElementaryKristen Shouldice earned her B.S in Childhood Education and Reading from Buffalo State and a Masters Degree in Literacy from Medaille College. After volunteering for 10 years with the Niagara Falls Police Athletic League, she aspired to teach elementary students. Mrs. Shouldice currently teaches at Windermere Boulevard School in an integrated ENL second grade classroom. She is an advocate for student-centered instruction and focuses on differentiating lessons for her diverse learners and developing a positive classroom environment for students who have respect for all, collaborate, and demonstrate perseverance. Mrs. Shouldice has participated on several committees including the Math Curriculum Committee, Science Curriculum Committee, and the Strategic Planning Committee. She has presented for the Association of Mathematics Teachers of New York State Conference: Teaching Mathematics Through Problem Solving: Classrooms on Display and co-presented a five part mini-session Mathematical Landscapes: Building on Operations and Number Sense aimed to deepen understanding of content across grade levels with the NYS Master Teacher Program. In her spare time, Kristen enjoys being with family and friends and staying active at Lumber City Crossfit. As a NYS Master Teacher, Mrs. Shouldice looks forward to broadening and deepening her STEM knowledge and pedagogical practices as well as sharing her learning with colleagues!
