Krista Jones
Amherst Middle School MathematicsKrista Jones earned both her B.A. and her M.S. from Buffalo State in Mathematics Secondary Education. Ms. Jones has taught mathematics from grades 7-12 at the Amherst Central School District for 24 years. She currently teaches Math 8 and Algebra Honors at Amherst Middle School. In addition to her teaching, Krista is the middle school student council advisor, a mentor teacher for newly hired teachers, and a private tutor. Ms. Jones was named Amherst Middle School's educator of the year in 2018. She is a member of the Association of Mathematics Teachers of NYS and National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. In her spare time, Krista enjoys weekend getaways with her son, boyfriend, family and friends. Ms. Jones is excited to join the Master Teacher Program so that she can continue to grow professionally, and become a better teacher, motivator and mentor. Teaching mathematics is an art that she is always striving to Master.
