Kimberly Ferguson

Kimberly Ferguson Iroquois Central School District  Kimberly Ferguson earned her BS in Biology and Adolescent Education from Canisius College and MSEd in Secondary Science Education from the University at Buffalo. In the classroom 12 years, Miss Ferguson currently teaches Living Environment and Introduction to Biomedical Sciences at Iroquois High School. Throughout her teaching career, she has also taught Environmental Science, NUSTEP Forensics, and Human Nutrition. Her professional interests include integration of technology and problem based learning into the science classroom. In pursuing this endeavor, Miss Ferguson was selected as one of five state finalists in the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Education Contest. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Miss Ferguson is the Science Department Chairperson and the district's Teacher Mentor Coordinator. She has been a Class Advisor, founded the Science Career Club, and has had the wonderful experience of leading student trips to Europe, Quebec, and Florida. In addition to her work at Iroquois, Miss Ferguson is an adjunct professor at Medaille College and is a member of the Science Teachers Association of NYS. As a NYS Master Teacher, Miss Ferguson is looking forward to expanding her pedagogical knowledge of personalizing instruction through blended learning and participating in the MAKE and Coding Professional Learning Teams (PLT).
