Kelly Woods earned her BS in Chemical Engineering from the University at Buffalo. While working as a teaching assistant at the University of South Carolina, Ms. Goliszek realized her passion for education and mathematics instruction. While earning her MSEd in Secondary Mathematics Education at Roberts Wesleyan University, she began her teaching career at John Marshall High School in the Rochester City School District, where she taught for four years before returning to the Buffalo area. A teacher with 13 years experience, Ms. Goliszek now teaches algebra at Clarence High School. Ms. Goliszek continues to draw upon her background in the sciences and engineering. She is passionate about infusing real-world scenarios into her classroom instruction and thus, creates a learning environment that requires the application of algebra concepts as opposed to procedures. She is an active member of the Association of Mathematics Teachers of NYS and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. Within the NYS Master Teacher Program, Ms. Goliszek has participated in the Vertical Math, Coaching, and Mentoring Professional Learning Teams.
