Kayla received a BA in Mathematics from SUNY Buffalo in 2010 and an MS in Professional Applied and Computational Mathematics from Buffalo State in 2012, earning the J. Scott Fleming Award from UB Alumni Association and Gehman Award for Mathematics at UB.  She has a diverse experience teaching for 5 years spanning from the city of Buffalo, Franklinville, and a year as a K-12 Math Specialist for HFM BOCES in Johnstown.  Currently she teaches  math at Salamanca High School, working as a home instructor and also a private tutor.  She is an active member of AMTNYS, NCTM, and PDK international.  Kayla is a coauthor in statistical analysis for tobacco research, contributing to research in an eye-tracking study at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute. In her free time, she participates in the Math Twitter Blogosphere (MTBoS); connecting with STEM teaching professionals across the globe, sharing teaching practices, STEM content, and educational technologies. She is honored to be inducted as a Master Teacher and looks forward to the rich professional development that ensues from Mini Courses, Professional Learning Teams and collaboration with other math and science master teachers.
