Lancaster High School Chemistry

Mrs. Gibbs earned her BS in Biology from Canisius Collegeand her Masters in adolescent education from D’Youville College.  Mrs. Gibbs was a research assistant at the University at Buffalo for three years while completing her Master’s program.   Mrs. Gibbs was a teacher at the Buffalo Academy of Science Charter School and PS 192 Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts.  She currently teaches Honors Chemistry at Lancaster Central High School (2006-present).  Mrs. Gibbs is an active member of Chemshare, STANTYS and is currently involved in Kagan cooperative learning; a problem-solving based learning initiative.  For her exemplary service to Education, Mrs. Gibbs was awarded the Certification of Excellence by the Lancaster county school district.  Mrs. Gibbs is an avid proponent of implementing technology into the classroom; incorporating demonstrative videos as visual aids and utilizing web basedplatforms to facilitate classroom interaction.  Mrs. Gibbs also works with NYS Education Department to develop the State Regents exams.
