John Miller

John Miller earned his B.S. in Biology from SUNY Geneseo and his M.S. in Education from Buffalo State.  He began his career in 2004 at North Park Junior High School within the Lockport City School District where he teaches science and STEM.  During his tenure he has been involved in a variety of activities including the after school sports program, Odyssey of the Mind, and Tech Wars.  He is most passionate about creative, hands-on methods of instruction that engage students’ natural curiosity. He is a member of the Western New York Technology Education Association and currently is developing lessons that focus on using Fitbit technology as a method to encourage healthy behavior and knowledge.  In his spare time he enjoys playing ice hockey and volleyball. Mr. Miller is eager to collaborate with other Master Teachers and views this opportunity as a way to grow professionally and share new findings with other teachers.
