Jim Roland

James Roland earned his BS and MSEd in Technology Education from SUNY Oswego. As an Oswego Laker, Mr. Roland built a cedar strip kayak and served as the graduate assistant for the Technology Education Department. Upon graduating, he began his teaching career at Broadway Middle School in Elmira, NY and then Holland Middle School in Holland, NY. Mr. Roland is now in his 15th year of teaching and his 11th year at Orchard Park Middle School. He has worked closely with colleagues to develop and integrate a new drone curriculum, host the OPMS STEAM Expo, and advise the OPMS Quaker Bots Robotics Club. Mr. Roland serves as the Instructional Leader for the OPMS Technology Education Department and aims to continue lobbying for the most current facilities and curriculum for his department. As a NYS Master Teacher, Mr. Roland is excited to participate in the drone Professional Learning Team and meet new colleagues across Western New York through future cohort meetings.
