Jeffrey Shelley

Jeffrey Shelley earned his B.A. in Geological Sciences from SUNY Geneseo and his M.S.Ed. in Secondary Science Education from the University at Buffalo.  Mr. Shelley began his teaching career at East Aurora High School in 2000, teaching Regents Earth Science and Chemistry, and Environmental Science. Mr. Shelley has served as an Adjunct Professor with Erie Community College since 2013. Students in his Environmental Science class, offered through the Advanced Studies Program, receive dual high school and SUNY credit.   Mr. Shelley has organized yearly Arbor Day programs and Earth Week Celebrations, coached Envirothon teams that have competed at the state level, and led numerous Cape Cod Whale Watches through the Science Club at East Aurora High School.  Outside of school, Jeffrey is a volunteer firefighter, fire commissioner, and Cub Scout leader.  Jeffrey, his wife, and their two children enjoy camping, hiking, boating, hunting, fishing, and spending time in the outdoors.  As a New York State Master Teacher, Mr. Shelley looks forward to developing new teaching practices to bring back to his classroom and sharing ideas with his colleagues regarding topics that will shape the future of science, especially energy consumption and alternative energies.
