Jamie Cinelli earned her BS in Elementary Education from Fredonia State University in 2001 and her MSEd in Curriculum and Instruction from Buffalo State in 2006. She has been teaching kindergarten at Smallwood Drive Elementary School in Amherst, NY for the past 13 years. Prior to that, Mrs. Cinelli taught third grade at Wales Primary School and kindergarten in Pinellas County, Florida. As a classroom teacher, Mrs. Cinelli works to create an innovative, hands-on learning environment for her young learners which encourages discussion, collaboration, and investigation. She believes that by integrating STEM instruction into her classroom she is able to increase student motivation and engagement. Currently, Mrs. Cinelli serves on the district English Language Arts and Technology Committees, as well as the building STEM and Strategic Planning Committees. Mrs. Cinelli also volunteers her time to serve on the Educational Advisory Board for Buffalo’s Theatre of Youth. In her spare time, Mrs. Cinelli enjoys gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family and her dog, Bentley. As a NYS Master Teacher, Mrs. Cinelli looks forward to collaborating with other Master Teachers and joining the PLTs focused on Building Mathematical Communities and the Next Generation Science Standards.
