Evan DeWald earned his BS and MSEd in Technology Education from Buffalo State. Prior to teaching, Mr. DeWald, held jobs in technological fields, including excavating and CNC machining/ manufacturing. Mr. DeWald has been teaching since 2016. He began teaching Applied Technology to eighth grade students at Olean High School and currently teaches Media Productions, Computer Assisted Design, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Small Engine, Entrepreneurship in Production Systems, and Principles of Engineering at Orchard Park High School. Mr. DeWald values kinesthetic experiential learning through a project-based approach. He encourages students to enjoy taking calculated risks in their learning choices. Mr. DeWald enjoys working with community organizations in efforts to attain equipment that can expand what his students can learn to do. Within his school, he is an advisor of the Media Productions Club and serves as the instructional leader for his department. Mr. DeWald is the coordinator of an annual regional wooden bridge design contest, held by the Western New York Technology Educators Association at NCCC Tech Wars. After school and during the summer, Mr. DeWald serves as a NYS Driver Education Instructor through the OPCSD Community Education Program. With his spare time, Mr. DeWald enjoys many summer and winter outdoor sports and activities as well as traveling. He enjoys working in his shop and on fun projects on his land, such as digging a brook trout pond. He is most passionate about caring for and expanding his grass-fed black angus cattle herd that he co- founded in 2015.
