Emerson Smith

Emerson Smith earned both his BS in Elementary Education and MSEd in Earth Sciences from SUNY Buffalo State. A 16-year veteran teacher, his career includes teaching 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade and K-5 Computer Skills. As a computer teacher, he has brought computer coding and robotics to grades kindergarten through 5th grade. Mr. Smith is also the Science Instructional Leader for his building. In this role, he has assisted in piloting the adoption process of new science curriculum and resources. Mr. Smith has been an active member in both the Science Teachers Association of NYS and the NYS Association for Computers and Technologies in Education for the past 15 years. In his free time, he likes to coach his 3 boys in various sports and spend time hiking and biking. As a NYS Master Teacher, Mr. Smith looks forward to sharing and learning from the experiences of his colleagues, gaining a greater understanding of how to better prepare students for the future, and bringing new and exciting ideas back to share with his school.
