Elizabeth Brooks earned her BA in Biological Sciences, with a minor in Teacher Education, in 1989 and her ED.M in Biology in 1996, both from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Prior to teaching, Mrs. Brooks worked as a research health scientist at the V.A. Medical Center and at Cellular Products in Buffalo, NY. In the classroom since 2003, Mrs. Brooks currently teaches Regents Chemistry, Human Anatomy & Physiology, and NUSTEP Forensics at Williamsville South High School. She serves as the Class of 2024 Advisor and assists with the Science Olympiad. Previously she taught Chemistry at Health Sciences Charter School, where she was the Coordinator of the NAF Academy of Health Sciences. She served as a Mentor Teacher, on the Academic and Internship Committees, and as an active participant with ISTE and VILS. Mrs. Brooks is a member of STANYS and the American Chemical Society. Outside of school Mrs. Brooks enjoys cooking and hiking with her husband and dog. She has 2 college-age children who still keep her busy with their active schedules. As an NYS Master Teacher, Mrs. Brooks is looking forward to collaborating with other science teachers to develop engaging curricula and experiences during the transition to the new New York State Science Learning Standards.
