Dawn Brown
Kenmore West School MathDawn Brown earned her BS in Mathematics and MS in Educational Computing from Buffalo State College. In her 24 years of teaching at Kenmore West High School, Mrs. Brown has taught numerous levels of mathematics in a variety of settings including academic intervention, co-taught, regents, honors, and International Baccalaureate. She currently teaches Algebra and Algebra 2 and is passionate about making mathematics accessible to all learners. Mrs. Brown spent over ten years in leadership positions within the Kenmore Tonawanda school district serving as Mathematics Department Chair and Curriculum Learning Specialist for Secondary Mathematics. During that time, she facilitated professional development on a variety of topics including curriculum mapping and the transition to the NYS Common Core Mathematics Standards. She is currently a member of the Foundations team, working to create a positive, safe, and civil school environment. Outside of school, Mrs. Brown enjoys being active, especially outdoors, and spending time with friends and family. Her favorite activity is exploring NYS on her bicycle. As a NYS Master Teacher, Mrs. Brown looks forward to collaborating with and growing alongside other Master Teachers.
