David Guzzino
Cheektowaga Central Middle School MathematicsDavid Guzzino earned his B.A. in Statistics and Economics from SUNY at Buffalo and his M.S. in Education from Canisius College. He began his teaching career at the Dr. Charles R. Drew Science Magnet (#59) in Buffalo, teaching seventh grade math. Since 1996, he has been at Cheektowaga Middle School teaching eighth grade math and Algebra 1. In the classroom, Mr. Guzzino enjoys incorporating hands-on lessons and helping his students develop the skills to communicate mathematical concepts to their peers. He has been involved in various clubs and activities over the years. As Math Club advisor, he took students to Troy, NY, to participate in the MATHCOUNTS State competition. Mr. Guzzino also coached boys JV and modified soccer, and is now a clock operator and scorekeeper for the soccer and basketball teams. He is a member of the Association of Mathematics Teachers of New York State (AMTNYS) and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM). Mr. Guzzino enjoys camping, curling, golfing, and spending time with his family. He is excited to learn new practices and techniques through the NYS Master Teacher Program and share the ideas with colleagues.
