Ms. Butler began her teaching career in the South, starting in North Carolina, then on to Tennessee, and finally Alabama. She taught mainly in middle grades mathematics and science positions for those 10 years. Ms. Butler enjoys being the City Honors 5th and 6th Grade Math League Coach for the district competitions. She had the opportunity to attend the WhyMaker Clean Energy Training for a week during the summer of 2024, where she was able to learn how to bring energy-related experiences to her classroom to allow her students to better understand the many opportunities that await them in this field. Outside of the classroom, Ms. Butler loves coaching her daughters’ soccer teams, attending a variety of sporting events, traveling, and just being outside! She is very excited to begin participating in the NYS Master Teacher gatherings to further her own knowledge in STEM to bring more real-world experiences to her classroom!
