Catherine Stojanovich
Iroquois Middle MathematicsCatherine Stojanovich earned both her B.S. in Mathematics Education and M.S.Ed in Educational Technology from Buffalo State College. Prior to teaching, Ms. Stojanovich worked at Harold C. Brown, an independent brokerage and investment firm in Buffalo. She also was the director of an after-school and summer program through Lake Shore Central Schools. Her passion for mathematics and desire to work with children motivated her to return to school and pursue a career as a teacher. Following her student teaching at Iroquois High School in the Spring of 2006, she secured a position as a Regents Geometry and Algebra II teacher at Iroquois upon graduation. She has taught Regents Algebra I, Algebra II, and Geometry at the Iroquois Summer Academy for the last ten years. Since 2010, Ms. Stojanovich has taught 7th grade mathematics at Iroquois Middle School. She also enjoyed teaching evening classes at Erie Community College’s South Campus from 2018-2021. Ms. Stojanovich is currently an advisor for Mathletes and co-advisor for an Engineering Design Challenge group. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring various cities in the U.S. and abroad with friends, while also appreciating quality time spent with family. Participating in professional learning courses provided by the WNY Master Teacher Program inspired her to submit her application for the program in January 2023. As a NYS Master Teacher, Ms. Stojanovich is eager to gain insights from fellow STEM educators, exchange ideas, and enhance her expertise through Professional Learning Teams.
