Brooke Harris earned her B.A. in English Literature from McGill University, her M.S.Ed. from the University of New England, and her Educational Leadership Certification from SUNY Buffalo State. Ms. Harris has been an educator in Rhode Island and New York for 25 years and has taught 4th grade for the past 12 years at Errick Road Elementary School. Currently, she is the Elementary Math Specialist.  In the classroom, her students have worked on project-based learning activities to create a school vegetable garden and a pollinator garden specifically designed to attract and protect monarch butterflies and other native pollinators. Additionally, students love learnin about and taking turns feeding her classroom African Water Frogs (William and Harry). Her 4th graders have been inspired by the Audubon Society’s “For the Birds” program, nighttime ‘Owl Prowls’, planting Milkweed with the NYS Highway Department and wading in Cazenovia Creek to collect water samples and other data for Reinstein Wood’s “A Day in the Life of the Buffalo River” program. Outside of school, Ms. Harris enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the great outdoors and volunteering her time to help others. As a Master Teacher, Ms. Harris enjoys collaborating with other teachers to create engaging STEM experiences for her students.
