
Bethany Crahen
Cleveland Hill Middle School Science, BiologyBethany Crahen holds a BS in Environmental Science and an MSEd in Adolescence Education from Canisius University. During her undergraduate years, she worked as a student biotech with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, completing fieldwork and environmental outreach programs. She continued her education and earned her NYS teaching certification and MSEd in Adolescence Education. She is professionally certified in Biology and General Science for grades 7–12. Mrs. Crahen began teaching in 2009 as an adjunct biology lab professor at Canisius University, where she remained until 2019. In 2010, she began her public school teaching career and has since taught in three school districts, covering grades 7–12. Her experience includes teaching Living Environment, Environmental Science, and 7th and 8th grade General Science, along with mentoring student observers and teachers. Currently, she is in her second year at Cleveland Hill Middle School, teaching 8th grade General Science and 8th grade Biology. A self-proclaimed “bird nerd,” Mrs. Crahen shares her passion for nature with her students. She co-advises Cleveland Hill’s Environmental Club, working on eco-friendly projects with students. In addition to teaching, she hosts a podcast and runs a book study aimed at helping teachers combat burnout and rediscover joy in their professional and personal lives. Outside of school, Mrs. Crahen enjoys spending time with her husband and four children, supporting their activities, catching up with friends, and relaxing with a good book. As a Master Teacher, she is excited for growth and learning, and for inspiring the next generation of educators to pursue this fulfilling career.
