Ariane Dunlap earned her Bachelor of Science from SUNY Geneseo and her Masters of Education from Roberts Wesleyan College. She has been in the classroom at Williamsville Central Schools for the past 23 years. She has taught General Chemistry, Regents Chemistry, Environmental, and is currently teaching Honors Chemistry and AP Chemistry. One of her favorite things to do at school is in the spring, Arianne coordinates activities for her AP Chemistry students to work with the Life Skills students at Williamsville North High. The students work one on one with each other and have completed activities including making ice cream, lava lamps, supersaturated solution ornaments and everyone’s favorite, tie dying T-shirts. Outside of school, Arianne is actively involved in her children’s activities and volunteers for soccer, baseball, softball with Attica Youth Association. Her favorite thing to do is spend time with her family and go on vacation at their favorite location, Vero Beach, Florida. Arianne has attended a few of the Master Teacher Outdoor PLT’s (visits to the Letchworth A.N.T. park and the Akron Reservoir) which got her interested in applying to the program. She hopes to make connections with other Master Teachers and bring the lessons learned back to her classroom and show her students how science is all around them and connected to their everyday lives.
