Ariana Ausanio earned her BS in Childhood Education and MS in Curriculum and Instruction with a Leadership focus from Buffalo State College. After she worked as an after-school director, facilitating a STEM partnership and obtaining funding to bring new technology to students. Currently in her 8th year in the classroom, she’s teaching 3rd grade Science and Social Studies at Frederick Law Olmsted #64. She’s led various community outreach efforts including fundraising for Ukraine, Healthcare workers during Covid and other organizations. She worked on the design team for a STEM lab, created a STEM club and has received grants and funding opportunities to bring robotics and STEM materials to her students. Last year she launched a plastic free movement, led the efforts to cut down on single use utensils and won an Environmental Champions Program Grant. Additionally she serves on the Teacher Leadership Team, as the Guardian of Equity and as a mentor teacher at her school. She enjoys traveling and learning and combines the two whenever possible whether that’s reading a book on an airplane or visiting landmarks around the world. She’s traveled for teaching conferences, enjoys visiting museums and spent this summer exploring Europe. In her free time at home she enjoys reading, cooking and spending time with her family, friends and dogs. As a Master Teacher she looks forward to learning from other educators and working together to improve the community and education for stud.ents. She has attended Master Teacher offerings and is excited to dive deeper in this work.
