Lewiston Porter Middle School Math

Amy Golden is a graduate of SUNY College at Buffalo with a B.S. in elementary education with a mathematics extension and Ms.Ed. She has been teaching 6th grade math at Lewiston Porter Middle School located in Youngstown, NY, since 2004. Mrs. Golden is an active member in her school community, serving as the Middle School Math Department Chairperson, a member of the Building Leadership Team, middle school advisor for the One District One Book program, teacher mentor for pre-service teachers from Buffalo State College, and Girls on the Run Coach. Additionally, Mrs. Golden has worked to build collaborative relationships with colleagues in districts throughout the WNY region and is currently participating in a professional learning team that focuses on building a teacher knowledge base for the implementation of high-quality instructional resources through the collaborative investigation of video cases. Mrs. Golden is a lifelong resident of Lewiston, NY, and when she's not in the classroom, she enjoys running, biking, gardening, baking/designing cakes, and spending time with her husband and two children. As a new member of the NYS Master Teacher Program, Mrs. Golden is looking forward to learning with the Girls in STEM PLT and Emerging Technologies PLT.
