Amanda Jasper

Amanda Jasper graduated from SUNY Fredonia in 2004 with a Bachelors of Science in Biology and Adolescent Education. She then continued on to earn her Masters in Science Education from University at Buffalo. Additionally, Amanda studied Geoscience at Buffalo State. She has traveled to New York City as an intern in the Summer in the City teaching program and to Wales as a part of an educational exchange program with SUNY Fredonia. She was inducted into the Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society during her studies and held the position as president of that organization during her membership.  

Amanda has been a middle school science teacher at Niagara Wheatfield Central School District for 14 years. She teaches 7th and 8th grade general science and regents level earth science. In addition to serving her school community as an educator, she has been a class adviser, outdoor adventure club leader, yearbook club co-adviser, building representative, eco-Campus revitalization campus committee member and served on various other school committees. She has participated in the Day in the Life of the Buffalo River program for several years and is co-facilitating a 4-H STEM club with the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Niagara County. Amanda is also a member of the Science Teachers Association of New York State. 

Beyond teaching, Amanda enjoys traveling, listening to podcasts, running, biking, hiking with her family and cooking new adventurous dishes. She is a busy mom of three wonderful children and their activities keep her life full and fun! She looks forward to learning and growing with the Master Teacher program and hopes to bring new, exciting ideas back to her district and to mentor preservice teachers as they explore the field of education.
