Amanda Gerwitz
Frontier Middle School MathematicsAmanda Gerwitz earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Mathematics Education at SUNY Fredonia. In 2010, she began teaching at Penfield Central School while she completed her MSEd at Buffalo State College with a focus in Educational Technology. Mrs.Gerwitz has taught in the Frontier Central School District at Frontier Middle School since 2000. She is currently teaching 8th grade math at Frontier Middle School. Prior to Frontier Middle, she also taught at Williamsville Central and St. Bernadette’s School. Amanda enjoys collaborating with her department to continue to learn best practices to continually reflect and create a classroom that’s inviting and engaging. Amanda is a member of the Association of Mathematics Teachers of NYS and has attended conferences. Mrs. Gerwitz’ hobbies include spending time camping with her kids, and riding her motorcycle. She enjoys her time as a classroom teacher and feels that she is daily helping students improve academically, socially and emotionally. Mrs. Gerwitz is very excited to be selected for the NYS Master Teacher Program and looking forward to connecting with fellow STEM teachers to continue to collaborate and learn from others in the NYSMT program.
