Allen Turton IV

Allen Turton IV earned his BS and MEng in Industrial Engineering, with a concentration in Production Systems from SUNY at Buffalo. He worked in several manufacturing settings including: a machinist at Lancaster Knives, a Technical Writer for Fezer Industrias Macanicas in Brazil, a Manufacturing Engineer at Curtis Screw Co., and a Business Unit Manager at Trico Products. He was certified through the Society of Manufacturing Engineers as a Certified Manufacturing Engineer, Certified Engineering Manager, and Certified Enterprise Integrator. When Trico closed its Buffalo Operations, Allen decided to pursue a career in education.  Allen became certified in Mathematics, Technology, and Business through Buffalo State’s Post-Baccalaureate Certification program and began teaching at Alden High School 14 years ago.  He gained his Work Based Learning Coordinator Extension, and in 2015 completed the School Building and District Leader Program through Buffalo State’s Certificate of Advanced Study Program.  Allen enjoys coaching his daughters’ soccer teams and supporting their ambitions however he can. When time allows, he plays in “old man” soccer leagues with his friends and enjoys hunting.  The ability to be a change catalyst in his district has been very rewarding and invigorating. Favorite projects include partnering with local trade unions and industry professionals to revitalize curriculum in technical areas. Extracurricular passions include Varsity Soccer, Varsity Tennis, FIRST FTC Robotics, and Student Congress.   As a Master Teacher, he intends to share successful approaches with fellow teachers and gain new ideas for improving Career and Technical Education with a focus on Advanced Manufacturing.
