Alan Baczkiewicz
Sweet Home Middle School ScienceAlan Baczkiewicz earned his BS in Environmental and Forest Biology from SUNY ESF and MS in Elementary Education from SUNY College at Buffalo. He has taught for 20 years and currently teaches sixth grade science and social studies at Sweet Home Middle School. He is the advisor for the Chess Club and Coding Club at his school. He has been a judge for at the WNY Regional Science and Engineering Fair in Buffalo, NY. Mr. Baczkiewicz is a member of the Science Teachers Association of NYS and National Science Teaching Association. He has attended and presented at several STANYS Annual Conferences. Outside of the classroom, he is an avid birder, conducting local bird walks and presentations for community groups. Mr. Baczkiewicz is the author of “The Backyard Bird Sanctuary” and writes a blog for new bird watchers. He enjoys spending time with his wife Mary and son Henry, sharing in their hobbies, and traveling with them throughout the US. As a NYS Master Teacher, Mr. Baczkiewicz looks forward to sharing new ideas with colleagues and continuing to present at local and state level conferences. He will be joining the Outdoor Science and Developing 3 Dimensional Lessons Professional Learning Teams.
